Hospital Statistics

KKESH has more than 1,200 full-time employees, including over 200 nurses and 70 physicians. The physician roster includes 50 ophthalmologists, ten anesthesiologists, six adult internists, two pediatricians, one radiologist, and one pathologist.

With the growth and expansion of the ambulatory surgical center, the number of inpatient beds at KKESH has been reduced from 263 to 228. In 2006, more than 10,000 patients were admitted for elective surgery, as well as emergency surgical and medical care.

In 2006, 98,994 patient visits occurred in the outpatient department, 26,211 patient visits took place in the emergency room, and 10,625 surgical procedures were performed in the operating theatre.
